Always on time

You know someone who is always late or always early everyone knows someone who fits at least those descriptions. Then there are some who fall in between those as well. But when it comes to finding a Savior or leaning on God for your provisions, whatever they may be, He is always on time. As long as you recognize that it is His time and not your idea of “on time”.

Why do I bring this up? Because we are living in a world that is unpredictable. We have no idea when things will turn around and get better or even if they will get better. Our life may be one doctor visit from a really bad day that leads to something that we don’t want to hear right now. There could be a wreck this afternoon while our loved ones are trying to get home from work. Hopefully it won’t be them involved in the wreck but it could be. We aren’t given or guaranteed a safe and happy life, with or without Jesus.

God watches over every part of your life, especially when your heart belongs to Jesus but He also watches over those who haven’t made that decision yet as well. Some might tell you that God doesn’t care about you until you ask Jesus into your life but it is God’s grace and mercy and His Holy Spirit which touches your heart and makes you realize that you actually need Jesus in the first place. It isn’t the preacher or even the sermon being preached that gets your attention. It is God’s touch on your heart and soul which lets you know that you are a sinner and if you died on the way home without Jesus, you will go to hell.

It is a very thin line that separates us from eternity or if you want to think of it in wintertime terms then it is very thin ice that you are standing on in this life. If God has a plan for you and a job for you to do for Him then you will be called one day soon. Because there isn’t much time left for us to be in this world. Too many of the things which are supposed to happen (prophecies) have already happened or are happening now and are bringing us closer to the day and the hour of the Trumpet of God calling the dead in Christ to life eternal and those who are alive who belong to Him will be caught up to the clouds with them (the Rapture of the Church).

Believe it and live or choose not to believe and live through the Tribulation, if you can. I have been accused of trying to scare people away from hell, and I plead guilty as charged. Hell is a hot and fiery place of torment where you go for eternity if you have rejected Jesus as your Savior during this life. It is not a quick “poof and that’s it”, the Bible says that the “smoke of their torment rises forever” because God did not create hell for humanity to live out eternity in. It was meant to be a place where Satan and his followers would be punished for their choices but since even the refusal of Jesus and the salvation that belief in Him brings is a choice for Satan then you will live out your eternity with him in hell.

Choose life everlasting in heaven with God now while there is time because when you draw your last breath in this life, you will open your eyes in eternity and in front of God as your Judge depending upon your choice now, today. Believe in Jesus for your Salvation because there will not be a chance to make that choice if you die before you make it.

So much more…

In our daily lives we see the pain and suffering which is happening in our country because of this pandemic. But it isn’t just the pandemic that is hurting our country and the world around us. It is the attitude of our people and the culture that has become so prevalent in society today. It is true that culture takes a while to develop but it seems that this “cancel culture” has sprung up over the past year or so.

It did not show up by itself though. All of the movements and marching which has gone on in the decades before many of those who march today were even born have lent their seeds to the movements and the culture that we have today. Much of it began in the late ’50’s and early sixties when religion was seen as a bad influence on our children, at least by a few who didn’t believe and who thought that prayer and reading from God’s Word was a bad influence. This grew into the atheistic movement which spawned some of the organizations which file lawsuits all over our country even when the complaint comes from one person or family.

Yes, we have the freedom to believe or not to believe in whatever god or religion that is around or in the schools or that may be influencing our children. But…have you ever heard of a Muslim Imam or a Jewish Rabbi being taken to court for what they teach? The religion that is always targeted in lawsuits and insults on the Internet is Christianity. Would the atheists target a Mosque or a Jewish Temple for their boycott or smear campaign? No! Because their reason for doing these things does not reside within those buildings.

The Word of God, Jesus Christ, Who came to pay for our sins and lived with His disciples for three years teaching and healing in Israel is what everyone who is against Christianity objects to. They don’t care if you talk about God or Yahweh. They don’t care if you talk about Mohammed or Allah or any of the others scattered around the world. But when you bring up the One Who can do for you the very thing that is worth the whole world…He is the One that can give you eternal Life!

He came to pay the penalty for ALL of our sins, true believers and those who choose not to believe. Why would Jesus Christ pay the penalty for those who choose not to believe in Him for salvation? Because He loves them enough to offer them the choice even when He knows their heart won’t accept it. God raised up kings and kingdoms to honor Him and to use as a way to punish His people when they didn’t honor Him as their Lord and God. He knows your heart and mine and He knew from before time began exactly who will give their lives to Jesus and who will not. But we are never forced to choose one way or another.

Even the angels in Heaven had the choice of being obedient to and loving God the Father or not. Some chose to follow Lucifer and be the fallen angels spoken of in the Bible and yet even when they made their choice God was not taken by surprise. He knew their hearts and their choices before they did. Our lives seem to be long here but consider that some veterans from World War 2 have lived to be 100 or more. The advancements in science and war machines and airplanes and cars that they have seen are amazing but consider what they would see if their life extended to 800 or 900 years? What could they witness in the past or in our future? The kingdom that will come to Earth with Jesus as the King will allow those who come into it to live a life like that. Imagine what they will see!

Seek His Kingdom while there is time now because eternity is ahead of those who have given their lives to Him and it is also ahead of those who have not. The dwelling place of each will be drastically different depending upon their choice here and now.

Dawning of Eternity…

This is not what eternity will look like but it is a beautiful picture nonetheless!

What do you picture when you think of eternity in Heaven? Honestly, I have a lot of trouble picturing it at all. The descriptions of Heaven which are given in the Bible are hard to imagine but they all describe a place that is so beautiful and beyond anything that we have ever seen on Earth. This fact alone makes it hard to use our imagination to even consider how it will be. I have read fictional books which try to describe the majesty and beauty of cities and homes made by our Creator for us and even those are beyond anything that we can think of.

Why am I writing of a place which is nearly impossible to imagine with our limited human minds? Because one day in the near future we will go there and see the home which God has prepared for us. Imagine the Builder of the universe creating a home which fits each of us perfectly. The rooms and the furniture and the interior and everything that we would love to have but can’t have here.

Why would Jesus build each of us a place like that? Because He loves us that’s why! I mean He created the universe, don’t you think creating a home for each of us would be a simple, loving gesture that He would enjoy doing for you or me? I am looking forward to being in His Presence, whether I get a tent or a house, I don’t really care. Seek Him and His Kingdom because the kingdoms of this world will be going away one day and He will rule here for a thousand years!

Who are you?

Have you ever wondered this to yourself? Who am I? I don’t know you, but God does. Have you ever thought about that? Why would God want to know me or love me? I’ll tell you why…because He LOVES you! He has loved you and me and everyone else who has ever lived with a love that we can’t understand. Because He is our Creator! He knit your molecules together in such a way that there is no other person nor has there ever been another person exactly like you!

Who are we? If you are a believer in Jesus as your Savior, then you are a child of God and an heir to everything that God wants to give you and He will give it to you. When it is His time to do so. We want it now, today, but God knows that much of His love and the blessings which He has prepared for you and me are not useful right now. Our heavenly home is waiting for us but we can’t live in it right now. The horse that we will ride behind Jesus is waiting in heaven for us but we can’t ride him or her right now. The city which has streets of gold is there but we can’t experience it until we are there. We are blessed and loved and highly favored in God’s sight but we won’t know how much until we get there.

We are blessed and loved and sanctified in Jesus and we are each part of God’s family and it will be a BIG family gathering one day. When that day comes, the world will mourn our disappearance but we will be in the most wonderful place in the universe! We will be with God! How amazing will that be? Living in heaven with our Father, our Creator and our Savior for eternity. Will we be doing anything? Of course we will. God doesn’t save you from the punishment of hell and then condemn you to a life of boredom. We will be working for Him in every capacity that He can give us the ability to do. Consider Who He is. Our Creator and our redeemer. We will have any ability that He wants us to have whether we lived that way in this life or not. Whether we have been a leader or a carpenter or a welder or a police person or a doctor, God can give each of us the knowledge and ability to do His will all through eternity and He will!

Who are you? We are whoever God says we are. We are able to be whatever He says we can be. We are able to do whatever He says we can because He loves us and He never leaves us. He is our Creator and our Redeemer and He is able to give us abilities which we would never have unless He gave them to us and gave us the knowledge to accomplish them. We are His children and we need to be grateful and thankful for each breath we take. Yes, we are loved and we are forgiven and we are His!

Who am I? I am in Christ!
