Living Christianity

Thanking God for waking up today, and for the blessings that you have in your life.

The prayer that you say before leaving to go to your job or on other errands that have to be done.

Praying for someone in your family, your church family, or someone who you hear about on the news. Not necessarily for their salvation, but for their comfort or their healing depending upon the circumstances.

Doing something, no matter how small it may seem, for someone that you know. Even if it is just saying a prayer for them.

Give of your money, your tithes to help those who are truly in need and in danger. The Jewish people are not all rich, there are some homeless children and elderly there that need our help. I have been doing this for the past three years or so and even if you can only give twenty or twenty-five dollars will help, even if it is only a one time gift. I am sorry to say that I haven’t been able to give that amount every month but I pray that is about to change for me and for you as well.

Don’t just go to church on the days or nights when there is a service going on. Your faith in Jesus has to be taken outside the church so that others can see Christians as we are supposed to be, reflecting Jesus so that the world can see Him through our actions and in our life.

Don’t claim to be a Christian and go through the motions of being one and not believe in Jesus fully. If you are doing this, you are fooling yourself and you are being fooled into thinking that you are something that you are NOT!

Do as Jesus said to do, “Seek ye the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, and all of these things will be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33) This doesn’t mean that all of the stuff that you want will come to you, but the blessings of God will be yours through Jesus. Read and study God’s Word every day! It is imperative that we know what it says so that we aren’t fooled by someone quoting a scripture which isn’t there or out of context.

Be LIKE Christ and be the Christian that He intended for you to be. Many people have died over the years because they would not give up their beliefs or change to go along with everyone else’s opinion and we should be just as stubborn as they were by clinging to our faith no matter what comes!

I am the Vine

Jesus told His disciples “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. 5″I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. 6″If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned.… (John 15:4-6)

We are to be the branches depending on the Vine to give us strength and ability to go through our lives with Him so that others might see Him in us and through us. How many churches actually teach this today? There are some, but I would say that there aren’t many. Why? Because of the way that our country has gone, the people have moved away from Christ. We have allowed ourselves to become like the church in the book of Revelation that Jesus said He would spew them out of His mouth.

Why? Because they had light, they knew of Him but didn’t follow Him. They did what was right in their eyes, made the rules for themselves instead of following the wisdom contained within God’s Word. Truly, you can even know His Word, have studied His Word, even preach His Word and yet not have Him in your heart. How this is possible, I can’t say, but it has happened to many.

Seek Him, lean on His Strength and Wisdom, learn to Love the way He does, without compromise or fear and without expecting anything in return. Do things for them that can’t help themselves out of your love for Christ so that others may see Him through you and your actions.

Our Lord needs many workers who are willing to do these things in the world today because there seems to be a shortage of people who are following Him right now. Really following Him, not just saying so and going to church and singing…going through the motions to look like a Christian and be seen as a Christian but deep down they haven’t accepted Him into their hearts. Is it possible to fool people like this? Yes it is. I have read stories of pastors and bishops in churches that have held those positions for years and yet they came under the conviction that they were not saved and finally gave their lives to Jesus.

Your life and mine are just wisps of smoke compared to eternity. The things which we can do are insignificant until Jesus comes into our lives and changes our hearts and our souls. When that happens, the whole world opens up and you can have an impact and make a difference in the lives of people. Not just for their lives here, but for eternity as well. Please, seek Jesus and His story out in God’s Word and give your life to Him. Ask Him to change your life into one that can truly make a difference in this world, even if it is only one person that you influence to become a Christian. That person may become an evangelist which will touch thousands of people, maybe more!

United we stand

There are so many divisions in the body of Christ today, until I am sure that Satan is truly amused by it all. We have many denominations, some of which don’t or won’t talk to each other. Then there are divisions between black and white congregations. Many people call this racist and segregationist but the problem is that we are not different races! If you truly believe the Bible, then look to our original parents, Adam and Eve. They were both likely of a dark complexion, not one or the other, and yet many or all of the “races” came from them.

The body of Christ cannot be and should not be divided during this period. Why? Because we are nearing the end of the age, the body of Christ shouldn’t be divided. We need to be standing together in the unity of the Holy Spirit, not pointing out our differences and our doctrines which don’t line up exactly.

Our life as children of God needs to be in cooperation with each other and with Him. Our beliefs as Christians shouldn’t so far enough apart as to separate us this much. But, just as the political parties which can’t get along or agree about much of anything, we seem to have the same problem. One church believes that the Lord’s supper should be done at least once every month, another might say that once or twice a year is good enough.

Traditions and man-made rules and regulations are the kind of burdens which Jesus spoke against in His Earthly ministry. As long as we are communing with God through prayer and study of His Word and celebrating our freedom in Christ by having fellowship with other Christians, rules…especially man’s rules need not apply!

A written copy of a church’s “discipline” or creed doesn’t carry the same weight as God’s Word, yet some treat them as if they do. How can we call ourselves Christians, when we treat those in the church like cattle and we don’t even show the love of God to those outside the church doors! Today, there seem to be many “houses of worship” which don’t worship much more than their own self-image!

Get back to true worship of God and His Son. Come back to your first love and if you never really belonged to Him or He to you, then humble yourself and stop being so self-centered! The only place that kind of thinking will get you is on a very slippery slope to hell! If you have never heard of that place in a sermon, then you certainly need to read God’s Word, because you don’t want to spend an eternity there!

We, as Christians, need to be united because there are so many people against us these days. Even the DHS has evangelical churches on their watch list. Don’t believe it? Look it up! I have seen and heard this in the news. Maybe not on the “major networks” since they only report things that they are told to report, but on Fox and on Glenn Beck’s network they do. Yes, this labels me as a radical Christian, but I don’t cut people’s heads off, I am trying to save their souls by showing them the true Savior, Jesus Christ!

If that is a crime, then I am guilty of it and will go to my death with it if need be! My eternity is secure and I pray that yours is too.

What will the Church do?

“Men and women have become “lovers of self’ (humanism), “lovers of money” (secularism), and “lovers of pleasure” (hedonism) “rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power” (2 Tim. 3:2, 4b-5), and the church in general has moved in tandem with the trends of modern society. In many ways, the society in which Noah lived, as described in Genesis 6:5-12, was not unlike the society we live in today!”   The Rapture Question Answered: Plain and Simple (Kindle Edition). By Robert Van Kampen

At the time of the Great Flood during Noah’s time, people were going about their business and their everyday life with no clue as to what was about to happen. Even though Noah was preaching to them and telling them that if they didn’t repent, there would be consequences and yet they did not listen. It sounds a lot like today. Our world and those living in it are going about their lives with no care about who they are serving. Most may not be aware of what spiritual condition they are in.

It is a sad situation that we find ourselves in, especially concerning the times that we are living in and those that are approaching rapidly. The church and those who profess to have Jesus in their hearts are also on the edge of a precipice, one that could calve out from under us like ice from an iceberg. Is the body of Christ, His church, ready for it? I am not sure if we are. Even if we are not in the time of the Tribulation right now, the testing will come. Some of those who teach that the church will not enter this time are clinging to  the rapture of the saints before the time of Tribulation which is coming and that may be the correct view. No one is sure about this, yet.

What will we do? What can we do as the representatives of Christ? Pray and seek Him, then follow Him and keep our eyes and our hearts focused on Him and His Word. If we don’t do those things, the world and our place in it will be sealed because either we will keep our faith in Him or we will lose our faith in Him and fall away from the church. Those that lose their faith will have the same fate as those who didn’t have any to begin with.

Those who stand by with Christ as their Savior and persevere with their faith intact, will be rewarded. What are you going to do when the church that you have attended most of your life denies that the tribulation has begun? I am not sure what I will do. The only thing that we have to hold onto is Jesus and His Word with our faith as the anchor.

The time  has come for us to be watchful of the times and the prophecy concerning them. It is a concept and a problem for the church because many don’t teach about prophecy and the book of Revelation and we need to be. Because we need to watch and be informed enough to be able to know what God’s Word says about the news that we hear and see everyday.
