We live in an uncertain time

But…it is not an unknown time. Many of the things which have happened in the past few years have been foretold in God’s Word. The re-gathering of the Jewish people in their land in 1948 was the first and there have been many more since then. In 1967, Jerusalem was restored to Israel as the capital. All of these things were prophesied by God through the prophets and His ministers, the apostles, who wrote of Jesus and His gospel.

Why do so many people disagree with the Word of God? It is backed up by many more original copies from the first century than any other “ancient” document. Yes, there have been many translations but if they are compared to the originals their content is true and correct. Some may argue that the Bible has many errors in it but it doesn’t. Some words translate easily from Hebrew to English but many do not simply because of the Hebrew alphabet.

I am not a Hebrew scholar but I do own a Hebrew Bible with the Old and the New Testaments in it and it backs up every scripture, even the King James Bible. Yes, some words are different but the context and the meaning of the Scripture are the same. When you read the prophecies from the Old Testament and then compare them to what happened in the life of Jesus and His apostles, even if you have to use more than one or two commentaries to make sense of them, they are accurate as if the writer was there. David described His crucifixion exactly in Psalm 22 right down to the casting of lots for His robe and this was written over a thousand years before Jesus was crucified.

We are living in a time where the “time of the Gentiles” is coming to an end. I pray that everyone who is seeking to know Jesus and the explanation of what is going on around the world will look it up in God’s prophecies, specifically Matthew 24 and in Isaiah 53 and the entire book of Daniel. Seek the truth in God’s Word while there is time.

Worship together

For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Matthew 18:20 KJV https://bible.com/verse-of-the-day/mat.18.20/10823

What will you do?

There will be a day sometime soon when the church will leave in the twinkle of an eye. That is faster than a blink. You may be talking with someone and in between words and the blink of your eyes…they’re gone and all that is left is their clothes and their watch or phone. Will you know what happened? Will you wonder about it or have you heard this story before? There will be many millions of people missing and there will be many car wrecks and planes crashing on that day. The news will be so busy reporting all of these disappearances that they may not realize that some of their crew is missing.

What will that day look like around the world? It will likely be chaotic with many people missing and so many wondering why wasn’t I among the number that was taken? Others will be asking why were they taken in the first place? There will also be many mothers who will lose their young children and babies right in the delivery room because they are still innocent in the eyes of God.

There will be many people in the world who will be asking many questions and some who do have the answers but the time to make the decision about your eternity is not after the Rapture has happened but before…like today! Have you put it off because you enjoy living without “rules” to ruin your nightlife? Have you just decided that being a Christian is too much to ask right now? The day of salvation is today, not tomorrow. No one is guaranteed to live a certain number of years, so even tomorrow is not promised to any of us.

Make sure of your eternal home today because on that day when all of the world is wondering what happened you want to be included in the group that was taken. What comes next for the rest of the world will be like hell on Earth for seven years.

Amen

Who is Jesus?

This is the question that many people have asked for centuries. Is He the Messiah, the Son of God, or is He just a great teacher?

The evidence points to Him being exactly Who He claimed to be! He was and is the Son of God and everyone will see Him coming in the clouds one day. All of the people since the first century who have died because of their belief in Him wouldn’t have held on to their belief to the death if He wasn’t.

Jesus Christ is the One that we have all been waiting for. To say or believe something else is foolish. Make sure of your faith in Him before it is too late.

Another year is gone…

Last year all of us wondered if there would be another year ahead but God gave us another year to be useful. Have you used this past year to be useful to Him? If you didn’t then you may have another year ahead to be used in His Kingdom to bring His message to those who need to hear it. Everyone who claims to have Jesus as their Savior is supposed to be His feet and His messengers to a lost and dying world. To those who go to church when they feel like it or even to those who have been members of a church for their whole life…you may be Christians IF you have accepted Jesus as your Savior. But sitting in a church for more than five or ten years doesn’t make you a Christian and just showing up when you feel like it doesn’t either. Salvation is found only in a solid belief in Jesus Christ as your Savior. When His Holy Spirit has convicted you of your need for Him and you give your heart to Him and you turn away from your old life and begin studying the Bible so you know Him better…that’s when your life changes!

There aren’t a ton of rules in being a Christian but you will find out what God blesses and what He doesn’t care for when you study His Word. So when you know His likes and His dislikes then you adjust your life to follow Him. That’s how you live your life trying to be more like Jesus every day. Yes, we fail at being like Him every day but we are trying with the Holy Spirit giving us strength to follow Him. Do we fall and fail to be like Him? Of course, we do many times a day…but at least we are trying to be better than we were and we can only do that with Him as our Savior.

Make this next year your best year as a follower of Jesus so that others can tell that you are a Christian even if you don’t tell them you are. Happy New Year!!

Dedicate everything to the Lord!

Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31 KJV https://bible.com/verse-of-the-day/1co.10.31/62608

It doesn’t matter how tired you are or how hopeless you feel, God can supply you with everything that you need to accomplish that task that needs to be done. So many people neglect to accept His supply and His help because they don’t want to do it His way. They want to do it their way. But you’ve tried it that way and it didn’t work, so give God’s solution a try. His way will work if you will place your faith in Him and keep going in the direction He gives you to go.

Where do I start?

When I became a Christian, a follower still learning about God and very new to the faith which had drawn me to Him, I didn’t know where to begin. I prayed and I fasted and one day I heard His voice telling me, “Why not start at the beginning?”. So every year since then I have studied the Bible from Genesis to Revelation and then sometimes I will take a small break. But when I am not studying His Word I feel like someone who has no food or water, so I begin again at the book of Genesis. I have been doing this for over a decade and truthfully the only books that I still have trouble with are Numbers and Leviticus. They are very repetitive and boring because they are more instructional than historical. These books are the instructions for the priests for performing their duties.

Why am I writing this today? Because every Christian needs to know where to begin their walk with God. The New Testament is a good place to start but Jesus referenced the Old Testament because that was the only Scriptures that were available to those that He called to be His followers at the time. So, we need to read it as well because it was important to Him and because the Old and the New Testaments compliment each other. The prophecies that Jesus fulfilled were from the Old Testament and pointed to His coming. The Word of God is the pure Water that we should cleanse our minds and our souls with to become more like Jesus.

When you are convicted of your own sinful nature, that is when you realize that you need to give your heart to Jesus and follow Him. Reading God’s Word is the best way to cleanse your soul of the grime and dirt that has built up over the years before you came to know Jesus because it is the Living Water. All of His Words can teach us something about ourselves and about how we can take His message to those around us. If we don’t learn from His Word how to speak and what we should speak then what we say will be from our own ideas and thoughts. The only words that carry His message and His power are those that come from the Bible, even if we paraphrase them a little bit as long as we don’t change it so that it means something different.

Even though there are many people seeking something that will give them peace in this life, many of them are not willing to follow Jesus so they can have that peace. They feel that they would have to give up too much of the life that they enjoy. It seems funny that they are dissatisfied with their life yet they don’t want to give it up or change their lifestyle to follow Jesus. Most people that I’ve spoken to about Him and what He has done for me say that there are too many rules to follow. I don’t follow rules, I follow Jesus Christ because He loved me and died for my sins long before I was born into the world. He deemed me worthy to offer the gift of salvation through my belief in Him without any help that I might bring because my efforts would avail me nothing. He already did what was needed for me to be saved…all that I brought to Him was myself when I realized that I could not do this without Him. I can follow the rules but only because I have the Holy Spirit living inside me to guide me, without Him, I wouldn’t be a Christian at all.

Please, if you are seeking Him, don’t wait too long. The church age is coming to a close when that will happen, I have no clue but I feel it won’t be very long. Your life and mine are never guaranteed and you can see on the news where many people die each day. If you feel the Holy Spirit drawing you closer to Him, please don’t wait or put it off until next week because we don’t know if we will be here next week.

Follow Him…

Jesus is the Shepherd if you’ve given your heart to Him. Read the Bible, learn about Him and watch Him work in your life because He will.
