I will praise the Lord!

Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: Thou art my God, I will exalt thee. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: For his mercy endureth for ever. Psalm 118:28‭-‬29 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/psa.118.28-29.KJV

God provides for us, no matter how bad the day may be. Jesus Christ paid for your sins and all that you need can be found in Him.

Do you believe in Him?

There are times that I notice people who say they believe in His power to save and His power to heal but it seems to be more of a “head knowledge” kind of belief rather than a deep, heartfelt conviction. The way I look at the Bible and God and Jesus and all of their abilities is based solely on what He has done in the past and what He will do now…if we will have the conviction to follow through. Remember, a conviction in this sense is a strong belief and is deeply held. It is not swayed by the opinions of others.

It was conviction that began the church after Jesus was resurrected and then taken up to prepare a place for His people. Ideas and a belief that is only knowledge of a fact or a memory is not the same. Peter and the other disciples would never have started the beginnings of a church or a movement without a true conviction that their Savior lives and in all of the promises that they heard from Him. A deeply held conviction cannot be shaken even when everything around you is not going according to your plan. God is still behind the scenes, moving the pieces so that “all things will work for your good“.

Prayer and reading His Word daily will strengthen your faith and your convictions about Him. Although many of us who claim to be walking with Him only do so when we are at church. We don’t practice our beliefs when we are at the doctor’s office or when we are traveling or at work. That is not the part of our life that we allow God to invade unless we need Him to. We need to remember that “God came and walked in the garden“, He wanted to be near and with His Creation, Adam. The only time we read this is after they have eaten of the fruit that they were not supposed to eat, but I believe that God walked with them to teach them every day. How else would they learn?

Belief and conviction are different sides of the same coin. One is just an intellectual knowledge where you have read about God’s miracles and you know that He has done this in the past. The other is based on that but it is deeper meaning that He is still doing those things today. God didn’t stop performing miracles in the first century, He is still doing it even now somewhere in the world. Take that into your heart and believe it with enough conviction that those problems that you are having or going through are being fixed by the Creator as you pray. Just believe it in faith.

Praise the Lord!

O praise the LORD, All ye nations: Praise him, all ye people. For his merciful kindness is great toward us: And the truth of the LORD endureth for ever. Praise ye the LORD. Psalm 117:1‭-‬2 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/psa.117.1-2.KJV

The entire world knows about God, whether they choose to believe in Him as their Redeemer and their Savior is an entirely different matter. According to the Bible or the Torah, God created the universe in six days and rested on the seventh. Although many people deny the truth found in the Bible, one day they will be shown the error of their thinking. The reason that I find it strange that people choose not to believe in God is that they call on Him when there is a dire need in their life. Sudden death or illness in their family will cause even the most devout atheist to seek help from a Higher Power.

Why should we praise Him every day? Because He placed each of us here for a reason and it is our job to seek Him for that reason and become the person to fulfill it. God gives each of us a certain number of days and years to live and only He knows how many we have. If you woke up this morning and you are reading this then you have today to praise Him and be useful to Him for today. You don’t know if you will have tomorrow but He has given you today, so do your best to be useful to Him today!

Patience

This word is something many of us could use more of but right now we had better be thankful that God has an immense amount of it. Why? Because of all the fighting and fussing over the “right” to kill babies that He has sent to us as blessings! I know, some people look at children, babies in particular, as an inconvenience but God has His reasons for sending that soul to you to be in your care. He doesn’t have to ask if it’s okay with you. If you are putting yourself in the position to have a child then God will oblige by sending you one. Whether you are ready for it or not!

Many new parents find that the job of being a parent is overwhelming at times and just plain exhausting during the first few months but most of us can get through it. Sometimes it takes a lot of prayer and “on-the-job” training but for those of us who truly want to be parents, it is worth it. Speaking of being worthy, none of us has the market on being worthy to be parents. Life happens and sometimes it is messy but with help from God and a little time, you can learn to be a good parent depending on your living arrangements.

Why am I focusing on this issue? Because that is one of the “big” stories on the news today. There are many other newsworthy things happening in the world but it seems that having the “right” to kill your child in the womb is more important right now. I worked as an EMT for a number of years and I carried a few expectant mothers to the hospital to have their babies. I never heard even one say that they didn’t want this child regardless of their age. As I said earlier, God sends these souls to Earth to fulfill some need or a specific calling that He has in mind for this child.

God knows what He is doing, whether we agree with His idea or not, is not supposed to be part of the equation. A child is supposed to be celebrated for their potential…their future. He or she is not supposed to be judged as useful or a nuisance. If your life doesn’t have room for a child, then give them a chance at life with someone who can’t have a child. Seek a way to give life a chance because this child may be the doctor that finds the cure for cancer one day.
