The blessing of the Lord

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. Numbers 6:24‭-‬26 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/num.6.24-26.KJV

This blessing is the kind that the Lord gives to each of us. We can bless each other with it and use it to bless our children too. In the world that we live in today, they need this blessing whether they know Jesus as their Savior or not. God is the Creator and He ordained His blessing to each person who will accept the gift of grace and forgiveness that comes through your belief in Jesus for your salvation.

Life is too short for us to be against each other the way the world wants us to be today. But…the news is full of stories that show that we are willing to be at odds with each other even over little things that don’t matter at all. Someone turns into the wrong driveway and they get shot. A person knocks on the wrong door and before they can explain, they get shot. We are far to quick on the trigger these days. I pray that everyone will seek some wisdom from God’s Word after reading this post because it is desperately needed today.

You are loved by God more than you realize. I mean, if He cares for every sparrow that falls from the sky, how much more does He care for you? Jesus said that the Father knows when each bird (sparrow) falls. He loves us because we are created in His image and He sent Jesus to take the punishment for our sins so that we could have a relationship with Him forever. All that we have to do is believe that He did this for us and repent of our sins and follow Him until the day comes when He calls us home to be with Him.

Be vigilant about your heart

Who do you rely on?

God wants us. Not our thoughts or our words or even our prayers, He wants us to give our life to Him completely. This is a strange idea to some people who have grown up in the church, especially in America, because our culture doesn’t believe in giving our “self” away to someone, not even God. We are taught to be ourselves and be genuine in our desires and our wants. We are taught to be independent and be our own “god” in a way. That is one reason why our country has moved so far away from faith in God. We have been taught to be reliant on only one person and that person is us, each of us.

God provides for each of us every day yet many people don’t recognize it. First, He gives us another day to serve Him when we wake up in the morning. He also gives us the air that we breathe and our ability to get up and move as well. Everything that we mostly take for granted and even believe that we are responsible for having has been given to us by God. If you are a believer, you have been bought with the blood of Jesus. All of us are part of His creation. Nothing in this universe is here by accident. Even the smallest insect is part of the world that we live in. We may not know what their purpose is but God knows.

Your life and mine are helpful to Him in ways that we don’t realize. Particularly, if you are a believer. Those who know you watch your actions and your words to see if you are living out what you believe. You may not know it but they are. Giving your heart and your life to Jesus is the most important decision you can make. It’s more important than a career or marriage or any other decision once you realize that you need Him. None of us would come to Him for our salvation until the Holy Spirit touches our hearts and we realize that we are nothing without Him. I pray that everyone who reads this will seek to be a disciple of Jesus while there is time.

John 3:16 says it best: Because God loved the world (everyone in the world), He gave His only begotten Son. That whosoever believes in Him will not perish but will have eternal life. (paraphrase)

We should let Jesus live through our lives

Dwell with the Lord

God’s Servant

So many times I have wanted to be more of His than I am and it is difficult to consider what it would take to be that close to God. The fifty-third chapter of Isaiah tells of the Servant of the Lord who went through agony and pain for Him and even though it is in the “Old Testament” it is speaking clearly of Jesus Christ. God loves each of us because He put each molecule of our being together before we were born. Lovingly crafting His children, even though some would not accept Him, because their gifts and abilities would be useful in this world. Some would not be useful to Him but they would be useful in the world that they lived in. Discovering cures or treatments or ways of doing things that others might not think of, would be their gift.

Being a servant of God is a calling. It is not something that you choose to do on your own. Just as accepting the call of God in your life to be a preacher, being a servant of God is something that is serious. Although, many people don’t seem to look at becoming a Christian as a calling that is exactly what it is. You wouldn’t be looking for Jesus if He had not called you by touching your heart and letting you know that the part of you that feels empty needs Him to fill it.

All Christians are called by God to become followers of Jesus, so it truly is a calling. Living your life by that calling every day is not an easy task but with His Holy Spirit touching your heart and strengthening you it can be done. Though it may not be perfect, since we are human, you can live it every day because of His strength and His grace in your life. I pray that everyone who reads this will seek Jesus to become their Savior soon because the time for the church age is coming to a close. We don’t know the day or the hour so be sure you are ready when that Trumpet sounds.

Hope…

In the days that we are living through, what gives you hope? Religion? A good job? Financial security? Hope is a commodity that is rare and hard to find today. We all say that we have it but what is our “hope” based on? What or who is your hope placed in or on?

The only true hope that any of us have is in Jesus Christ. Many of us place our hope in things or in our jobs but those are only temporary. Whether you believe in God or the Bible, there is an eternity waiting for each of us. We don’t just go “poof” when we die! Our soul goes somewhere and it lives on. Not believing in it doesn’t change it at all. Just like “not believing in gravity” won’t stop it from killing you if you fall from a great height.

Eternity is our reward for living our lives according to God’s will for our lives. Even if we don’t live according to His will, eternity is still ahead of us whether we experience it in heaven or hell. The world around us is ignoring everything that has been spoken of and foretold in the Bible and going on as if nothing will change. But one day soon that will change in the blink of an eye. Of course, they will come up with some “explanation” for the disappearance of everyone who believes in Jesus as their Savior but it won’t be one that has anything to do with Him.

Jesus is the only person in history that has had as much influence on the entire world and yet three-quarters of the population on Earth refuses to believe in Him. Why? Because of the influence of the false religions that are all over the Earth and the one who has had the most influence on religion…the devil himself. Conveniently, most people in the world also choose not to believe in his existence as well.

One day soon, all of this “non-belief” will be moot and the proof will be very visible to everyone. Whether they believe their own eyes at that point or not won’t make much difference. I pray that most will put two and two together before it is too late.

A life-changing decision

Describe a decision you made in the past that helped you learn or grow.

There are many decisions that I have made over the course of my life that helped me learn and grow. The first was when I joined the Air Force back in 1980. I gained confidence in myself and learned many things that are not taught in school. Then I became an EMT for a number of years and I learned a lot about how people treat each other in various situations. I’m not going to go over all of my life and the decisions that I made but the one that had the most impact was when my son was born and my acceptance of Jesus Christ as my Savior.

I knew I couldn’t raise him without having a true moral center in my life and God agreed with me. He called me to be His and I hope I’ve been pretty good at following Him. Like everyone else I have stumbled many times but He has always been there to help me get back on the right path with Him.

He is Life!

God’s Servant

Who has believed what he has heard from us? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? For he grew up before him like a young plant, and like a root out of dry ground; he had no form or majesty that we should look at him, and no beauty that we should desire him. He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so he opened not his mouth. By oppression and judgment he was taken away; and as for his generation, who considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living, stricken for the transgression of my people? And they made his grave with the wicked and with a rich man in his death, although he had done no violence, and there was no deceit in his mouth. Yet it was the will of the Lord to crush him; he has put him to grief; when his soul makes an offering for guilt, he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days; the will of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. Out of the anguish of his soul he shall see and be satisfied; by his knowledge shall the righteous one, my servant, make many to be accounted righteous, and he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore I will divide him a portion with the many, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong, because he poured out his soul to death and was numbered with the transgressors; yet he bore the sin of many, and makes intercession for the transgressors. Written seven hundred years before His birth, it described Him and His life perfectly. Seek Him for your salvation today.
