Do you believe in soulmates? Why or why not?
I’ve been married to my soulmate for 34 years today and my life would have been very different if we had not found each other. God loves us and He knows who will complement us in this life.

What’s a show that had the perfect series finale?
MASH ended with the team leaving the camp that had been their home for more than a decade. Many people watched the entire series and millions watched the ending show.

What’s a book that completely surprised you?
When I began reading it over a decade ago, I had no idea what I would find. But God’s Word has so many different stories to tell. The main one is that He saves us from disaster and His wrath every time. In Genesis, God saved Noah and his family from the flood. This was the beginning of His salvation of mankind and the story continues through the rest of the Bible.
The story is not easy to pick out in some of the books, because it’s not written as a story in every book. But in some way, God does save a person or a group of his people in every book. Look for it and you will find God showing up at just the right moment.

What are the biggest benefits of minimalist living?
Not as much to worry about and a lot less to pack up.
Repeating “news”
What bores you?
The constant repetition of old news. Stories that are older than I am, yet they treat the “story” as if it happened recently.
Salvation
Share one of the best gifts you’ve ever received.
Salvation is a gift from God to those who need it. It’s been available for a long time and it’s free. Jesus paid the price that we could not and all we have to do is accept the gift from Him.

What’s the first impression you want to give people?
This is my goal at least, sometimes it is not easy to do. I do pray for those around me that cut me off in traffic because it’s the best way to respond in traffic. Most people won’t know I’m doing it but I do. In a restaurant I bless my food and other people will see that, but I don’t do it just for that reason.

Who is the most famous or infamous person you have ever met?
I met Jerry Clower once going into a hospital in Jackson Mississippi. He was a big man. I had never seen him up close before but he looked like he was about 6 feet 10 inches tall and at least as wide as some doors. When he played football for Mississippi State, I wouldn’t have wanted him tackling me.

What does it mean to be a kid at heart?
Look for the fun in your daily life. Seek the Lord and learn to just have fun even when things don’t seem that way. Don’t make fun of a serious problem but don’t let it drag you down either. Give your problems to the Lord and don’t worry about them after that.
