Confess that Jesus is Lord

God invites you to His table!

The end is near…

The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before that great and notable Day of the Lord come: And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:20‭-‬21 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/act.2.20-21.KJV

For the promise is unto you, your children, and all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
Acts 2:39 KJV

The title is something that you see “crazy people” in movies and other media shouting about but it gets your attention. The end of the world is not exactly what I’m referring to. Mainly because God’s Word never says anything about the world ending. There is a time of Tribulation that lasts for seven years and then there is a one-thousand-year Kingdom in which Jesus rules the world but the end of the world is not spoken of until the Great White Throne’s judgment after the one-thousand years. Even then, the heavens and the Earth will be remade as they were in the beginning.

Why am I writing this? Because our world is going through many “birth pains” right now and all of the prophecies point to this time as being the “end of days” or the “end of the age”. What does that mean? Well, the whole world has been enjoying the patience of God during the past two millennia which many scholars call the “Church Age”. This time is referred to as such because the church was started after Pentecost and the church that the apostles began at that time has spread all over the world. In many ways, the church has fulfilled its mandate to take the gospel to the whole world but there are still many who have not heard or accepted Jesus as their Savior.

The world is becoming more like the world was just before the Flood of Noah’s day. Rejecting Jesus and following their own ideas and religions or even rejecting religion entirely has become more accepted today than at any time in the past few hundred years. We are living during this time that Jesus spoke of when the world would be in a state of confusion and pestilence and wars. This time has been prophesied for many hundreds of years, actually, it is thousands, but there are few that have taken notice of it. Jesus is coming back soon to take His Bride, the church, back with Him to His Father’s house. I pray that anyone who reads this will seek Him out to be your Savior because the time is coming that the world will be in much worse shape than it is in today. Read the Bible, particularly the gospel of John, Romans, and the book of Revelation.

These three books will give you the reason for the things that are happening in today’s world. Seek Jesus as your Savior and give your heart to Him while there is time. When that day comes when the church is taken up, the problems of today will look like wonderful times in comparison to the next seven years that will come. I will keep all of you in my prayers.

He came…

Jesus Christ came so long ago but He came to make a way for us to be adopted into God’s family. God chose humanity to be His creation and to be made in His image so why do many people today choose not to believe in Him or the salvation He offers to us through belief in Jesus Christ? The world outside the church doesn’t understand God’s grace toward us or toward them. They see and read what is offered but they also look at the Bible as a book of rules and restrictions. In some ways it is but we live our lives as Christians not because of rules but out of gratitude for His grace toward us. A grace that none of us deserve yet it is given through our belief in Jesus for our salvation.

Life for those chosen from the beginning of creation is assured when they accept the offer of grace from our Lord. Don’t turn away from the offer when you feel it or when you hear it from your Lord and Savior.

End of life

It is a fact of life that we can’t escape the sentence of death. Our lives come to an end at some point. Young or old, famous or infamous, popular or unknown to most people every person comes to that point. Sometimes it sneaks up on us and sometimes it brings our health down slowly but death comes to each of us in one way or another.

I’ve been thinking about this lately because a family member left us about a month ago and then on the news ever since then there have been shootings in local cities and in our nation. There have been some celebrities who have passed away. There have been many around the world that have been killed in wars and other “actions” in places that we don’t hear about until days later. Why am I writing about such a depressing subject as “death”? Because each of us will have to face it in one way or another one day. There is no reason to ignore it or pretend it won’t happen.

The question of the moment is: Are you ready for it? I think most of us would agree that we are never really ready for it unless we have given our hearts to Jesus and we believe that He is our Savior. If we are born again in Him then we are ready for death because it is our doorway into heaven.  If you don’t know Jesus as your Savior yet I encourage you to seek Him out as soon as possible. Why the urgency?

Because of the time that we are living in. We are living in the period just before the Tribulation mentioned in the book of Revelation. The time to seek Jesus as your Savior is today. Don’t put it off. Salvation is only found in Jesus Christ. Please don’t wait until the church is taken from the Earth.

Do not be afraid

You are in a battle with Satan

If you have not given your heart to Jesus then you are not in a battle with him because he already has you. Satan fights with and tries to trip up anyone who has given their heart to Jesus because he is trying to cause your witness to be meaningless. Every time you slip from following Jesus just a little bit, he knows it, and those who know you are watching to see if you walk the way you claim to. If you thought becoming a Christian would make life easier, you are wrong. When you become a Christian you have left the camp of Satan’s forces and you are fair game to his temptations.

Satan and his “fallen angels”, the demons and principalities, hate you. Especially when you have given your heart to Jesus. You have become the enemy because you are living for Jesus and when you are doing this, Satan knows all of your weaknesses and he can target your mind so intimately that you will believe almost anything he tells you. Remember, Satan convinced one-third of the angels in Heaven to follow him in his rebellion against God. He has been going against God’s purposes for thousands of years regardless of who he was tempting or causing to stumble. Unless you have learned a lot of scripture he can even use it against you by twisting God’s word into something that it isn’t.

Christians everywhere are in a battle against the world system that is controlled by Satan and his demons. His evil plan is being worked out in every area of the world and especially in churches and in every place where Christians are being persecuted. The thing about all of this is that God is allowing it. Satan can’t do anything that God doesn’t allow him to do. God knows who will resist him and his temptations and who will not be able to resist.

What is the point of telling you this? So you’ll know and hopefully, get ready for his attacks before they come. We don’t get warnings ahead of time so we have to be ready at any time. God gave us His Word and His wisdom in the Bible so that we can be ready and know His words and His Truth when Satan tries to twist scripture around. Make sure that you know Jesus and His Truth in your heart and mind so you will have a defense when Satan tries to tempt you because he will.
