Peace with God

If we want the peace of God, we must first have peace with God. Jesus promised to give us His peace and that is wonderful but you must be a child of God, adopted into the family by the Holy Spirit through belief in Jesus Christ to have it! There is no formula or certain task you have to perform other than your conviction that you need Jesus and your positive response to that conviction.

In life, we have so many areas where we have to perform just to get a promotion or even a job. Salvation is a gift from God by our acceptance of Jesus as our Savior through faith in Him. There is no formula or any special act or anything that we can do to “help” Jesus in the saving of our souls. He has already taken care of the “act” that was needed to do that, all we have to do is choose to accept His gift to us…period.

What is “peace with God”? It is the joy of knowing that you are His and nothing can take you out of His hand! Once you have accepted Jesus as your Savior and prayed for understanding His Word and really studied the Bible some, you will have that joy and peace that no one outside the family of God can know or even understand. I pray that many people will recognize that they need Jesus as their Savior because we are on the verge of the prophecies found in the Bible regarding what most people view as the “end of days” or that is foretold in the Book of Revelation. Don’t dismiss this article as someone trying to instill fear about our future. The prophecy is real and every one of them in the Bible has come true except for those near the end…which is where we are now.

Discipline is not pleasant

Do you walk with God?

There are many who think they do and there are a few who actually do wake up acknowledging Him and walking with Him throughout the day. I’m not saying that you have to live your life this way but if you are saved and a believer in Jesus for your salvation you are expected to live this way. Jesus said for us to “take up our cross daily and follow Him”. If you aren’t doing this as a believer…why not?

Living your life daily connected to Jesus is also a part of being His disciple. You might say that you didn’t sign up for being a disciple but you did. Giving your heart and life to Him is not a little bit here or there, it is giving everything that you are to Jesus and pledging to do so every morning when you wake up and begin your day. We are not supposed to pick and choose parts of God’s Word to believe and we can’t choose to give Him part of our life and keep back some areas of it. Your salvation is for your whole life…all of it. Not just a piece of it here and there.

When you wake up, you have been given a gift. We do not have a guarantee of days and years of life but God gives us those to prove to us how much He loves us. Most people do not look at their daily lives as gifts from God but each day truly is. Each of us, as believers, has an obligation to fulfill because of the mercy and grace that we have been given even though we don’t deserve it. Our obligation is to use our daily lives as our witness to others for Him so that our faith in Him is visible every day and not just on Sunday at church.

Every Christian is saved because God called you or me. We can’t just choose to be a Christian because even though we may live morally and go to church and act like one, without the Holy Spirit changing our hearts and us living a Christian life according to His leading there is no way that we can truly live a Christian life. Jesus said that we can do nothing without Him, so seek Him in the Bible and learn about Him. Follow the example set by His disciples.

Help my unbelief

The father in Mark 9:17-27, the father of a young boy with a demon came to Jesus asking Him to drive the demon out of his son. He said his disciples couldn’t do it but when he asked Jesus “If He could” do it, Jesus responded with, “If I can? Anything is possible for those who believe!” Then the father said that he believed but he needed help with his unbelief. In other words, he had faith but it was weak. Many of us are in that same situation today and sometimes we place our “faith” in things rather than the Person of Jesus.

Some people use handkerchiefs or anointing oil to give people some “thing” to believe in but God told us long ago not to place our faith in anything but to keep our faith and our spiritual eyes focused on Him. We have a Savior, Jesus Christ, Who is the Son of God, that is Who our faith should be in and in Him alone. Jesus finished the work that God sent Him to perform on the cross and it was by the shedding of His blood that our sins have been forgiven. We can do nothing to add to it or “help” Him in any way regarding our salvation.

Sometimes, life throws some pretty hard punches our way and they can cause us to question our faith. When sickness or a death in our family breaks our resolve it can be hard to keep our eyes on Jesus and keep our faith in Him alone but with prayer and seeking His strength in the Bible, we can do it with His help. David wrote many Psalms seeking God’s protection and strength and we have to seek Him in our time of need as well. Life is hard at times and the world around us will not help us…but God will and He is always as close as a prayer.

Give thanks and praise Him

Are you broken?

I’ve asked this question before, but when you consider the world we live in, there seem to be more broken people than whole people. Can this be changed? Yes, but not through legislation or anything that mankind can do. Our brokenness is due to our sinful nature; the only fix is accepting Jesus as your Savior…now, today. We must seek Him because no one is given tomorrow. You or I have no reason to put off accepting Jesus because we are not guaranteed tomorrow.

Being broken today is the most common condition in our world. We are broken because of war and diseases like COVID and cancer. We are broken in our relationships simply because we look at many of them as temporary, even marriages today are looked at as temporary. Brokenness is a chronic condition all over the world. Even countries that don’t look at the world through Christ’s eyes are broken more than they realize. Why are there so many people seeking Jesus today? Because He is the fix for your broken condition!

God loves you more than you can understand. Remember, He sent Jesus to die on the cross to pay the penalty for your sins and if you believe that He did this for you and ask Him to come into your heart and change you then you will be changed from that moment…IF you are sincere about your need for Him. Just saying the words and getting baptized or anointed in some way doesn’t change anyone if you aren’t convicted enough to truly change your life.

According to God’s Word, your life doesn’t end when your body dies. Your spirit lives on into eternity and it is that part of you that will suffer for eternity if you don’t accept Jesus as your Savior before you die and truly become a follower of Jesus for the rest of your life.

Support those who work for the Lord

‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5:12‭-‬13‬ ‭KJV‬ [12] And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; [13] and to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. And be at peace among yourselves. https://bible.com/bible/1/1th.5.12.KJV

Do you know Him?

Our Creator knows you so well. He can tell how many hairs are on your head and He knew you even before you were born. But…do you know Him? I don’t mean “know about Him” or “I’ve heard about Him in church”. Hearing about your Savior is good but that is only knowledge, it doesn’t bring salvation to your soul.

When you hear about Jesus a spiritual seed is planted in your heart. It may sprout during that service or God may cause it to spring up a few days or months from now. Your call to be in His family will come in God’s time. I pray that anyone who reads this will seek Jesus Christ to be their Savior because that is the only way to be a part of God’s family.
