God is not a genie…

You might get what you ask for if it is His will for you to have it.

Almost every day

How often do you say “no” to things that would interfere with your goals?

There are days that I don’t have to say no to anything but sometimes it’s hard to turn away from even small things. That’s when I have to rely on the Lord to help me say no.

Almost persuaded

This is what should not happen to us. Being almost persuaded means that you doubt God’s word and His ability to bring salvation to you. The problem with this unbelief is that Jesus finished God’s plan on the cross and when He came out of the tomb. In these words, it doesn’t sound like much but Jesus made the Way to Heaven for us through Him and our belief in His accomplishments.

Don’t turn away from the call of the Holy Spirit because you may not get that call again. No one of us is guaranteed even the next minute of life but when God’s Spirit touches your soul and you know that you need Jesus, it is your call from God. Don’t turn away from His call like it was a telemarketer! God loves you and He has a plan for your life. It may involve being an example to someone in your family. Someone that nobody else has been able to reach or maybe someone who will listen to you and take your words or your actions to heart. You may be the one who can persuade them that Jesus is worth following because He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life and nobody can come to the Father except through Him.

Jesus came to America…

There have been revivals and movements in America because of Jesus and I pray there will be many more. So why does it seem that we are pushing God and Jesus out of our country? America needs to return to Jesus Christ but I believe a revival may be coming soon. God loves each of us. He disapproves of the way we live but He loves each of you. If you are searching for real life, you can find it following Jesus.

What is a surrendered life?

You’ve given your heart and your life to Jesus so how do you truly surrender to following Him?

Determine to commit your whole existence to Him. No matter how ugly or sinful it might appear to you, every part of your life. Regardless of your perception, even the small details should be surrendered to Jesus. This includes all of your daily decisions, no matter how small you think they are. It even includes looking for your keys or what grocery items to buy. Every decision in your life should be “filtered through Jesus”.

It sounds impossible to do, doesn’t it? It would be if we were doing it on our own but when you become a Christian the Holy Spirit lives inside you and with His strength and guidance you can live this way. It isn’t easy though. Your desires and ideas will get in the way and you will stumble off the pathway at times but He will guide you back if you listen to Him and follow Him. It is a daily struggle and Jesus told His disciples they would have trouble in this world.

God knows our weaknesses and our strengths and He is willing to help us with both. That is the function of the Holy Spirit in our lives. He helps us and teaches us in every way. God is not “controlling” us but if we are moving away from His will for our lives He will move us back. If we are so stubborn that we push through and go our way, He will let us fail and fall until we realize that we messed up.

The commandment that we should follow

The most important [commandment],” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”
Mark 12:29-31

So why can’t the church live these Commandments today? Many people are hurting today, all over the world, because the Church isn’t doing this. We give money to corrupt organizations who take advantage of the people that we are trying to help and then we wonder why our donations didn’t help.

About my Savior! This medium allows me to put His message on the Internet but being disabled I don’t have the ability to get out in the world to spread the Good News about Jesus Christ. I do pray that more people will see and read my posts here.
