The brachiosaurus

If you could bring back one dinosaur, which one would it be?

Because it would show the majestic imagination of God.

More than just words…

More Than Just Words: Living Out the Sermon on the Mount Today

  • Focus: The Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7) contains some of Jesus’ most profound teachings on how to live. This post will have one specific beatitude or commands (e.g., “blessed are the peacemakers,” “love your enemies,” “do not worry”) and discuss the application of it in your life.

One of the Beatitudes is “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.”  Who are the ones who hunger and thirst for righteousness? They are the people who are reading this or maybe someone who you know. The thirsty ones are the ones looking for a Savior and He can only be found by putting your faith in Jesus Christ and believing in Him for your Salvation. Your thirst…your hunger for fulfillment in something or Someone can only be filled by giving your heart to Jesus Christ.

He came to be the Savior of the world, to be a Savior to every person in the world. He didn’t come for fame or accolades from Presidents or monarchs, He came because God loves everyone no matter where you live or the color of your skin. God came in the Person of Jesus Christ to pay the price for the sins of the whole world. He paid that price, but He didn’t go to hell and preach to those who were lost. He didn’t go to hell to experience the hell that we deserve. He did go to Paradise to lead the captives free and take them to Heaven.

God’s love is so complete toward each of us but we can’t imagine a love like His. The only love from a human perspective that could come close is the love that parents have for their children. God considers us His children, whether we have accepted Jesus as our Savior or not. He had a part in our creation before we were born, so He is our Father. When you give your heart and your life to Jesus you are adopted into His family and your name is written in the Lamb’s book of Life.

God stands firm as our Rock

Simple Christianity

Faith don’t need to be fancy. Holiness don’t need to be haughtiness. Ministry don’t need to be a misery. Wisdom don’t need to be wily. Christianity don’t need to be complicated…it just needs to be shared with those who need to know about it and the Savior that we, as Christians, follow.

Holiness sounds haughty but it refers to being “set apart” and as Christians we have to be in the world but, according to Scripture, we don’t have to agree with it and it’s ways. Being a follower of Jesus can be simply doing what He told His disciples to do, even when it conflicts with our life sometimes.

God loves us, all of us and for some that seems to be totally against their idea of God. But consider that He had a part in forming you in the womb and He knows your personality and your strengths better than you do. If you look around you in the world and at the heavens at night, God is bigger than all of your problems and He can handle all of them…if you will let Him. Even the little things like feeding the birds and the fish, He is involved in their lives as well. “Not even a sparrow falls to the ground without the Father’s notice.”

Less whining

What would you change about modern society?

In the last twenty years the world has changed from being one where people tried to be better to one that only seems to have spoiled brats in it. What began with the “smart phone”was the dumbing down of society. Everyone has a voice and a camera now and there’s no privacy at all. It’s not the government that has done this, it’s us.

Yes, I’m using one to write this but we could do with less videos and posts on social media and get back to being social with each other. This is just my opinion folks, I’m not trying to start anything.
