I’m not ashamed

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Romans 1:16‭-‬17 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/rom.1.16-17.KJV

Christians should not be ashamed of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He came to Israel to preach and tell them the good news of the Kingdom of God and they didn’t believe in Him or His message. They wanted a conqueror. Someone who would vanquish Rome and bring the Kingdom to Israel. It is coming but only after they have finally learned Who He is.

God loves each of us but He doesn’t like our sinful lives and our prideful lifestyles. We believe that we can live any way we want to and then He will take us in any way and that is not how it works. We must give our hearts and our lives to Jesus and repent of our sins…all of them. We can’t hold on to even one little sinful thought or action in our lives. Our entire being must be given to Him and then with the help of the Holy Spirit of God, we can live our lives as close to Him as possible.

See, we can’t live a Christian life without the Holy Spirit. As a matter of fact, we won’t even give our hearts to Him and become Christian without the Holy Spirit convicting us of our need for Jesus Christ as our Savior. It takes the grace of God that gives us the faith to believe through the Holy Spirit in the Savior, Jesus Christ. The entire Godhead is at work in salvation because each of us who is called by Him is important to Him. Why? Because there is someone that we can take our witness to who will listen to us more than they will to anyone else.

A friend of mine, Jesse Gilbert, considers himself to be saved. Yet, his life doesn’t reflect it. I pray that God will get his attention and bring him to know Jesus before it is too late. Do I know his heart? No, only God knows that. But I pray that he will change his life soon.

We can move in His strength

I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD: I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only. O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: And hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works. Now also when I am old and grey-headed, O God, forsake me not; Until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to everyone that is to come. Psalm 71:16‭-‬18 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/psa.71.16-18.KJV

God will give you strength for each task and accomplish His will in your life. There will be days that try your patience and your faith but if you trust Him, He will bring you through it. God loves each of you but He doesn’t like our way of living. The sinful lives we live, even after becoming a Christian, cause God pain. In the same way a child who makes some mistakes that their parents warned them about hurts them. The big difference is that God can provide a way out of the problem.

You might not like the solution that He provides but if you will listen to Him and follow His direction, everything will work out for you and for His glory.

God’s unfailing love

Drinkin’ from my saucer

Drinking from My Saucer

by John Paul Moore

I’ve never made a fortune and it’s probably too late now.

But I don’t worry about that much, I’m happy anyhow.

And as I go along life’s way, I’m reaping better than I sowed.

I’m drinking from my saucer, ‘Cause my cup has overflowed.

I don’t have a lot of riches, and sometimes the going’s tough.

But I’ve got loved ones around me, and that makes me rich enough.

I thank God for his blessings, and the mercies He’s bestowed.

I’m drinking from my saucer, ’Cause my cup has overflowed.

I remember times when things went wrong, my faith wore somewhat thin.

But all at once the dark clouds broke, and the sun peeped through again.

So God, help me not to gripe about the tough rows that I’ve hoed.

I’m drinking from my saucer, ‘Cause my cup has overflowed.

If God gives me strength and courage, when the way grows steep and rough.

I’ll not ask for other blessings, I’m already blessed enough.

And may I never be too busy, to help others bear their loads.

Then I’ll keep drinking from my saucer, ‘Cause my cup has overflowed.

God is always on time!

We are living in and through the days leading up to the return of Jesus. That is why so much is happening on the news and all over the Earth. The prophetic books of the Bible foretold of this time over 2500 years ago and the book of Revelation was written during the first century 2000 years ago. Nearly every prophecy has come true except for the “taking up” of the church and its believers. Why do I say it that way? Because not everyone in the church truly belongs to Christ.

Some people in the church are just on the membership roll, they haven’t given their hearts and their lives to Jesus because they’ve been in church all of their lives and they believe that is all that is needed. Church membership doesn’t get you or me into heaven. Belief in Jesus as my Savior and your Savior gets you into heaven. God knows who will accept His Son as their Savior and He knows when that will happen. Some people may accept Him the first time the Holy Spirit touches their hearts. Some people want to wait a while but God knows when they will give their hearts to Jesus.

He also knows who will not accept this challenge. What challenge? Living as a Christian is not easy because Satan begins working on your life and your attitude trying to ruin your witness that others may see. He might’ve helped you get whatever you wanted before you give your heart to Jesus but when you become a Christian, Satan will attempt to take everything that you have from you. I don’t mean that he will afflict you as he did with Job in the Old Testament but he will try to take you back to your old way of life.

God’s timing is true and always on time and the end will come. The time of the Tribulation is coming soon and the “taking up of the church” will happen before that. Life is changing, our time on Earth is short and I pray that you will seek Jesus as your Savior today. Because our time is short.

Wait on the Lord

Truly my soul waiteth upon God: From him cometh my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved. Psalm 62:1‭-‬2 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/psa.62.1-2.KJV

Be patient and wait on the Lord and His answer will come. In His time and always on time.

A new way of seeing Him

Why do people reject new ways of looking at or learning about the gospel? Our lives are so built around traditions that we have grown up around, especially in our religious practices. Even our ideas of how Jesus lived and acted are bound up in our ideas of what He would or wouldn’t do. How could we know? The writers of the gospels didn’t talk about Him laughing or having fun. The only verse that says anything about His emotion is the shortest in the Bible, “Jesus wept”.

God doesn’t have to conform to our ideas of what He would or would not do, especially in the Person of Jesus. Yes, He cried when He came to the tomb where His friend was laid to rest but He knew that he would live again. Can we learn and understand the gospels in a new way? Only if we are willing to. God has been using the series, The Chosen, as a way to reach so many people with the gospel over the past few years. Whether there will be time to finish the series or not is up to Him but if that happens many people will be brought into God’s Kingdom because of it.

God loves His creation, especially mankind, but He has never been too fond of the way we live and act toward each other or the world around us. We idolize so many things and people and most don’t even realize they are doing it. I pray that anyone who reads this small post will seek Him out to become their Savior. He is coming back for His church soon. I pray that you will be part of it.
