Nothing can separate you…

Finished…

The work that God sent Jesus to do was finished on the cross, no amount of work or money, or effort is required by us. We can’t add anything to the work that He completed. Jesus came to bring salvation to those who would take hold of it, yet there are many who will not because they want their own “way” to get to eternity. The problem with this thinking is that all of us have eternity ahead of us, yet it is the quality of our eternity that we should seek after.

Some have believed the lie that after you die there is no enjoyment or feeling even though the Bible says that we do have joy and life to enjoy into eternity with God. The life that we have here on Earth is fleeting and less than we expect it to be regardless of the amount of fame or money that we have. It seems that, in many ways, those who have little are the most content in this life. They have fewer “problems”, especially mental issues. They may have more medical problems than some who can afford treatment options but most of the “poor” have greater faith in God. They depend on Him for their satisfaction in life and for their provisions in this life as well.

So, when Jesus said that the poor are blessed…He meant it. God does bless them because they depend upon Him for many things in their life. Those who supposedly “have it all” don’t search for God and His provision because they feel that they don’t need Him. Yet, when some diagnosis comes along that their wealth can’t provide an avenue toward a cure…that is when they seek out prayer and fellowship with people who have placed their faith in God.

No, there is nothing that we can contribute toward our salvation except to accept it when it is offered to us by faith. God provides that to each of us and when we feel it and know that we need it, we shouldn’t turn away from it because the opportunity may not come again. I pray that everyone who reads this will consider the sacrifice that God went through to bring the possibility of salvation to each of us.

The blessing of the Lord

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. Numbers 6:24‭-‬26 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/num.6.24-26.KJV

This blessing is the kind that the Lord gives to each of us. We can bless each other with it and use it to bless our children too. In the world that we live in today, they need this blessing whether they know Jesus as their Savior or not. God is the Creator and He ordained His blessing to each person who will accept the gift of grace and forgiveness that comes through your belief in Jesus for your salvation.

Life is too short for us to be against each other the way the world wants us to be today. But…the news is full of stories that show that we are willing to be at odds with each other even over little things that don’t matter at all. Someone turns into the wrong driveway and they get shot. A person knocks on the wrong door and before they can explain, they get shot. We are far to quick on the trigger these days. I pray that everyone will seek some wisdom from God’s Word after reading this post because it is desperately needed today.

You are loved by God more than you realize. I mean, if He cares for every sparrow that falls from the sky, how much more does He care for you? Jesus said that the Father knows when each bird (sparrow) falls. He loves us because we are created in His image and He sent Jesus to take the punishment for our sins so that we could have a relationship with Him forever. All that we have to do is believe that He did this for us and repent of our sins and follow Him until the day comes when He calls us home to be with Him.

The path to eternity

Years ago, when I was a teenager, I heard messages from preachers on TV and in church but I couldn’t believe that it was true. At that time…I didn’t believe the Bible was God’s Word and even if it was, it was just some old book to me at the time. I wasn’t going to allow this “book” to dictate my life for me. I was in the same shape in reference to faith in Anyone, such as God or Jesus. I knew about them intellectually but belief in Jesus to save my soul was something that I didn’t think I needed at the time. I was believing a lie from Satan himself.

So much of the world today is following along with that lie but they don’t know or believe that it is a lie. It seems to be the truth because every media outlet is saying that it is the truth. Our belief in Jesus should give us a confident conviction that He is Who the Bible said He is, He will do what He promised to do, and upon placing my trust in Him, I will enter into a personal, eternal relationship with the Son of God.

Jesus told His disciples in the Bible that the world is following a path that is very broad. It looks great and it is smooth to walk on, most of the time, and it is easy to follow because there are many people on it. But…the broad road eventually leads to spiritual death and an eternity in hell. Then you have a pathway that follows a rough and rocky path, not a road, that leads to salvation in Jesus Christ. It isn’t easy to follow, especially at the very beginning. Why is that? Because we are just beginning the journey and it takes some time to learn how to navigate the pathway. It takes time and it is something that we must read God’s Word in order to know how to do.

That pathway becomes easier as you navigate it if you have read the guidebook, the Bible. The broad road is easy from the beginning and many people don’t seek to know Jesus well enough to walk on the pathway and not on the road. They know about Jesus and they’ve heard many messages about Him but they have never given their heart to Him and allowed Him to change their heart to become more like Him. Most of them have been members of a church for years but they have never asked Jesus into their lives and their hearts to save their souls from hell.

I trust in You, Lord.

God loves broken things

God is not happy when we feel broken or we are broken by something. In today’s world, many of us feel this way because of the circumstances we find ourselves in but God can bring us out of those circumstances. God can heal all sorts of illnesses and problems that we have been told can’t be fixed. God is still a healer! He didn’t stop at Pentecost! He has been healing people for thousands of years and He can still do it today.

Being broken doesn’t mean that we can’t be fixed, it just means that God will prove Himself in a way that we will notice. Sometimes the healing takes the form of death because it is the best cure a Christian can receive. Those who are left may think that God couldn’t heal their loved one but God made them more alive than they ever could be here. In heaven, we are in glorified bodies that will never decay or wear out and we have no disease or infirm problems like we have here.

When you feel that your life is not what it could be, seek God’s provision for your life. He can provide and He will when you are seeking Him. He will answer your prayer in His time and in His will for your life so don’t put it off, decide to follow Him every day as you live and breathe in this world. Then you will have an eternity to be with Him and be in His presence one day as well.
