Do you walk with God?

There are many who think they do and there are a few who actually do wake up acknowledging Him and walking with Him throughout the day. I’m not saying that you have to live your life this way but if you are saved and a believer in Jesus for your salvation you are expected to live this way. Jesus said for us to “take up our cross daily and follow Him”. If you aren’t doing this as a believer…why not?

Living your life daily connected to Jesus is also a part of being His disciple. You might say that you didn’t sign up for being a disciple but you did. Giving your heart and life to Him is not a little bit here or there, it is giving everything that you are to Jesus and pledging to do so every morning when you wake up and begin your day. We are not supposed to pick and choose parts of God’s Word to believe and we can’t choose to give Him part of our life and keep back some areas of it. Your salvation is for your whole life…all of it. Not just a piece of it here and there.

When you wake up, you have been given a gift. We do not have a guarantee of days and years of life but God gives us those to prove to us how much He loves us. Most people do not look at their daily lives as gifts from God but each day truly is. Each of us, as believers, has an obligation to fulfill because of the mercy and grace that we have been given even though we don’t deserve it. Our obligation is to use our daily lives as our witness to others for Him so that our faith in Him is visible every day and not just on Sunday at church.

Every Christian is saved because God called you or me. We can’t just choose to be a Christian because even though we may live morally and go to church and act like one, without the Holy Spirit changing our hearts and us living a Christian life according to His leading there is no way that we can truly live a Christian life. Jesus said that we can do nothing without Him, so seek Him in the Bible and learn about Him. Follow the example set by His disciples.

Lose your life for Jesus

Help my unbelief

The father in Mark 9:17-27, the father of a young boy with a demon came to Jesus asking Him to drive the demon out of his son. He said his disciples couldn’t do it but when he asked Jesus “If He could” do it, Jesus responded with, “If I can? Anything is possible for those who believe!” Then the father said that he believed but he needed help with his unbelief. In other words, he had faith but it was weak. Many of us are in that same situation today and sometimes we place our “faith” in things rather than the Person of Jesus.

Some people use handkerchiefs or anointing oil to give people some “thing” to believe in but God told us long ago not to place our faith in anything but to keep our faith and our spiritual eyes focused on Him. We have a Savior, Jesus Christ, Who is the Son of God, that is Who our faith should be in and in Him alone. Jesus finished the work that God sent Him to perform on the cross and it was by the shedding of His blood that our sins have been forgiven. We can do nothing to add to it or “help” Him in any way regarding our salvation.

Sometimes, life throws some pretty hard punches our way and they can cause us to question our faith. When sickness or a death in our family breaks our resolve it can be hard to keep our eyes on Jesus and keep our faith in Him alone but with prayer and seeking His strength in the Bible, we can do it with His help. David wrote many Psalms seeking God’s protection and strength and we have to seek Him in our time of need as well. Life is hard at times and the world around us will not help us…but God will and He is always as close as a prayer.

I pray for all who believe

Are you broken?

I’ve asked this question before, but when you consider the world we live in, there seem to be more broken people than whole people. Can this be changed? Yes, but not through legislation or anything that mankind can do. Our brokenness is due to our sinful nature; the only fix is accepting Jesus as your Savior…now, today. We must seek Him because no one is given tomorrow. You or I have no reason to put off accepting Jesus because we are not guaranteed tomorrow.

Being broken today is the most common condition in our world. We are broken because of war and diseases like COVID and cancer. We are broken in our relationships simply because we look at many of them as temporary, even marriages today are looked at as temporary. Brokenness is a chronic condition all over the world. Even countries that don’t look at the world through Christ’s eyes are broken more than they realize. Why are there so many people seeking Jesus today? Because He is the fix for your broken condition!

God loves you more than you can understand. Remember, He sent Jesus to die on the cross to pay the penalty for your sins and if you believe that He did this for you and ask Him to come into your heart and change you then you will be changed from that moment…IF you are sincere about your need for Him. Just saying the words and getting baptized or anointed in some way doesn’t change anyone if you aren’t convicted enough to truly change your life.

According to God’s Word, your life doesn’t end when your body dies. Your spirit lives on into eternity and it is that part of you that will suffer for eternity if you don’t accept Jesus as your Savior before you die and truly become a follower of Jesus for the rest of your life.

Do you know Him?

Our Creator knows you so well. He can tell how many hairs are on your head and He knew you even before you were born. But…do you know Him? I don’t mean “know about Him” or “I’ve heard about Him in church”. Hearing about your Savior is good but that is only knowledge, it doesn’t bring salvation to your soul.

When you hear about Jesus a spiritual seed is planted in your heart. It may sprout during that service or God may cause it to spring up a few days or months from now. Your call to be in His family will come in God’s time. I pray that anyone who reads this will seek Jesus Christ to be their Savior because that is the only way to be a part of God’s family.

Revive us…

Revivals are happening now in many places in America. The news media and our “social media” are not reporting any of this but it’s happening. God is moving in our country and many young people are seeking Him as their Savior. The problem is we are paying more attention to the so-called “news” rather than taking our Christian faith, which started our country so many years ago, and bringing our family back to God. Our country can’t change until the faith of our families changes first. The change has to begin at home.

People are seeking Jesus in places like Iraq and Iran and they are finding Him. Personal revivals are happening and they’re growing in number. God is moving because there are people that He wants to call into His house before the Trumpet sounds! God told one of His prophets to “prophesy to these bones” and the whole valley of bones came back to life. It was a valley of dry bones yet God brought muscle, sinew, and skin back to them and their skeletons lived again.

Don’t believe that God cannot do miracles anymore because He can! You and I can be revived to become children adopted into God’s family. All that is necessary is for us to accept Jesus as our Savior and believe in Him for our salvation, just as the thief on the cross believed in Him and was saved that day!

Even during trouble

Our Creator…

Jesus is enough…

Colossians 1:13-17: 13 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves,14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

The Supremacy of the Son of God

15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him, all things hold together.

The Chinese character for “come” is mostly the image of the cross.

The Cross of Christ is where all of our needs and our sins are taken care of. God has provided everything that we need through our Savior. No profession nor amount of money can provide the assurance of your eternity. Jesus can. God gives you the faith to believe in Jesus for your salvation but if you won’t accept His gift of salvation…it will not do you any good.

People have wondered for years if you or I can refuse to accept salvation through Jesus. If it is a calling from God that you accept Him as your Savior, you will accept it. Some people walk to the altar because they feel that they need salvation and they do, but if it is only your decision and not a calling from God then it is useless. Many people, religious people, have this kind of “salvation”. Even some preachers have said that they have gone through seminary training and preached for years before finally accepting Jesus as their Savior.

God’s call is His choosing of you to be His and a part of His family! He gives us the air we breathe and all of the food that we have access to. If it wasn’t for His provision, we would not be alive! He created everything that is on this planet and in the entire universe. Even scientists are admitting that some of their theories of creation are wrong. God is everywhere and He is our Creator. There was no accident or “something just happened” to bring chemicals together to make our DNA. Creation doesn’t work that way.

God is preexistent, meaning that He was before everything. He knew you and me long before there was anything because He isn’t bound by time like we are. Life would not exist in all of its wonderful forms if God had not created it. There are life forms found under the ice in Antarctica that science can’t place anywhere. They have no idea what some of them are, yet they are alive. I believe God put them there just for that purpose, to give our scientists something to ponder.

God also spread out the universe itself in ways that the James Webb telescope is showing to astronomers today and they can’t explain it. There are galaxies that they have found that are completely formed but according to the “laws” of physics they shouldn’t have been able to be formed that early in the universe. God did this specifically to give them something to ponder as well. Many of them are saying that some textbooks may have to be rewritten.

There is even one galaxy that looks like a question mark. Another one of those findings that the James Webb Space Telescope has found that astronomers can’t really explain. Some of the “explanations” say that two galaxies are colliding with each other and formed this image. Maybe. I like to think that God is having fun with our scientists and put this out there just to make them scratch their heads.

Repeating myself

Many of my posts are titled the same but most of them are different in their content. God leads me to post the way that I do because He needs you to read and understand His purpose for you while you are here. If you are a Christian, your purpose is something that you will have to seek on your own through prayer and reading of God’s Word.

Jesus repeated His teachings at times. Paul wrote very similar passages in his letters to the churches. All of this repetition is good because the message is still pointing toward our Savior, Jesus Christ. So…
