My Grandfather

Share a story about someone who had a positive impact on your life.

Even when he retired, he was constantly working. Building some piece of furniture in his wood shop, tilling the garden, selling oil products to county barns. I never saw him sitting around doing nothing.

Freedom is…

What does freedom mean to you?

Waking up in my house and knowing that it’s mine. Life and the freedom we enjoy was bought with the blood of soldiers who paid for it with their lives.

America has been a light to the world for a long time and the light was the reason our soldiers fought for our freedoms.

To tell the truth

What is your career plan?

Since I was called to be a pastor, my plan is to keep telling people about my Savior, Jesus Christ.

Of course

Do you vote in political elections?

If you don’t, you can’t complain about the person who was elected. 👍

John 3:16

Do you have a quote you live your life by or think of often?

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him will have eternal life.

I was an active pastor for 9 years but that doesn’t compare to my witness here. Do I live by this verse of Scripture? I ask God to help me live by it and live daily the witness that it calls me to be. I can’t do it on my own but only with His help. This scripture sounds so easy that many people overlook it but if you think of the thief on the cross…belief is all he had! Jesus told him “Today you will be with Me in Paradise”. What a powerful testimony.

Becoming a firefighter

Describe a risk you took that you do not regret.

Nearly forty years ago I needed a job and since I was an EMT it seemed like a good idea at the time. I didn’t know I was going to have to train as a firefighter but I enjoyed it for about 5 years. The adrenaline rush was something I’ll never forget and the experience will always be with me.

TRAFFIC!

What makes you nervous?

I don’t like driving in heavy traffic.

I listen to gospel music

How do you unwind after a demanding day?

I know that’s kinda hard to believe but that’s what I do. I don’t claim to be perfect in my faith because I’m not. I mess up, I make mistakes every day but I still try to keep my mind on Him.

To keep in touch

How do you use social media?

Many of my high school classmates live in other towns, so I joined Facebook to connect with them. Then I noticed that my neighbors were on it too. I use it to keep connected with the people who are actually friends. I don’t accept requests for friendship from people that I really don’t know.

Tired…

Jot down the first thing that comes to your mind.

I’m tired of the rain! It seems that it won’t let up!
